Lord of Life Lutheran Church’s Safe Sanctuary Policy is intended to help create a welcoming and safe environment for everyone.
All church members, employees, volunteers, and visitors have the right to pursue their activities free from all forms of discrimination, mistreatment, and/or harassment, which include sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, and sexual misconduct. In the spirit of creating an open and secure atmosphere for all God’s people, Lord of Life Lutheran Church, The Woodlands, TX, has established a policy and procedures to carry out this mandate and a committee to provide oversight and assistance.
Safe Sanctuary training is required every 2 years for every person 16 years or older who works with children or at-risk groups at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Persons who receive training include
- Lord of Life staff members
- Lord of Life Church Council members
- Nursery staff
- Sunday School teachers
- Vacation Bible School and Day Camp volunteers
- Welcome desk volunteers
In addition, it is recommended that all volunteers at Lord of Life Lutheran Church receive the training.
After training is complete, a background check will be performed for people 18 and older.
